THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO HELP!
Help the women of Essoungue, as they work together to build the future of their
families and villages in southeastern Cameroon!
families and villages in southeastern Cameroon!
Spread the word! We are developing our social media presence, using Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to share news and information about the women of Essoungue. We would be grateful if you could forward our webpage on through your networks of friends and family. Thank you!
We are a new non-profit organization, run by ordinary women who are also full-time workers and mothers. We are inspired by Essoungue's model of bringing women together through shared solidarity and effort to lift up families and communities.
Give us feedback and share your knowledge! We seek any and all support that you may be able to offer us:
Here is a feedback form, where you can send us your questions, comments, and/or ideas for contributions to Esonge-USA and our sister organization, Essoungue-Dioula:
Give us feedback and share your knowledge! We seek any and all support that you may be able to offer us:
- Do you see errors on our website? Please let us know!
- Do you have ideas for how we can improve our website or communications?
- Can you offer guidance for non-profit accounting methods?
- Can you share knowledge of best practices for community-based, grass-roots development work?
- Do you have skills in solar energy or communications technologies, and could help us develop ways to support informational technologies in this remote region?

Participate and partner with us! In the longer term, we envision creating networks of women in our own communities -- Esonge women's associations for our own families and communities -- and would value your participation, insight, and partnership. We hope that such women's associations can lift us all up, through developing solidarity and shared interest in the betterment of our communities.
Provide donations in kind! We welcome donations in kind -- donations of goods or resources that could support the women as they seek to lift up their families.
- Are you a teacher with excess school supplies at the end of the school year? We can bring them to the schools in southeastern Cameroon!
- Do you have an old-fashioned treadle sewing machine that you could donate? We can transport it to the women of Essoungue, so that they can sew resources -- masks, sanitary napkins, school uniforms -- for their children and families.
- Do you have collections of French-language books that you could donate? We seek to help the women of Essoungue build resources to support literacy and education, for adults as well as children.
- Do you have access to soccer uniforms or equipment (perhaps ones that your children have outgrown)? We know of hundreds of soccer-loving children (girls and boys, young and ... not so young!) in southeastern Cameroon who struggle to outfit their village teams, who would be grateful for such donations!
Provide monetary donations! We absolutely seek monetary donations. No sum is too small to help! We welcome donations of all sizes at at any time.
- A one-time donation now will help us support the women as they continue to put into place preventative measures to protect the communities of southeastern Cameroon from COVID-19.
- An annual donation will ensure that the women have a replenished budget each year to continue building the projects they have begun, and to encourage them to keep planning, organizing, and expanding their efforts in the future.
- A sustaining donation will ensure that you build a durable, long-lasting relationship of concrete support for the women and families of this vulnerable community, economically poor yet rich in spirit and humanity.
- Esonge-USA also applies for and welcomes grants from foundations or charitable funds. We seek funding from partners to support the long-term goals of Essoungue to accomplish two ambitious tasks: to establish an endowment to support the work of Essoungue for the long-term, and to support the women of other villages in the Lobéké forest region as they organize and legalize their own Essoungue associations. If you have ideas for foundations or charitable donors who would be interested in supporting the work of Esonge-USA and Essoungue-Dioula, please let us know so that we can apply.
Your gift is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by US law.
THANK YOU for your generosity - Hiingo ne ene sulowe!
